There is a lot of discussion going around in India about child labour. Newspaper and other media have time and again highlighted this issue. However, problem cannot be solved by pronouncing Laws. What we want is practical solution of the problem. 

Swami Vivekananda guided us a century ago that all problems of India can be solved by a magic stick called “Education”! He said that we would educate our children with all positive, powerful thoughts with a healthy and strong body. Then we will have a strong Nation. 

Ramakrishna Math, Baranagar has been working in the field of Community Development. We have collected the data of poor and needy children staying around the Ashrama premises whose parents are mostly poor fishermen and daily labourers, all are almost slum dwellers.

This Math has decided to start “SPONSOR A CHILD” programme to make these children healthy, strong with capacity to earn their own livelihood.

The total cost of  “SPONSOR A CHILD” programme per student per month is Rs. 350/-only. This includes provision of nutritious diet, school uniforms, educational kits and free coaching through our non-formal school and free coaching centre.

You can “Sponsor a Child” for a whole academic year by donating Rs. 4,200/- and help  build better citizen.

At present, we have planned for hundred students. We wish to increase number of students if funds are available. If you are keen to sponsor a child, you may send cheques drawn in favour of “Ramakrishna Math, Baranagar’ and may please be sent to our above address.

The donors will qualify 80G under the Income Tax Act., 1961.

We will send you the name and photograph of the child and keep you posted on the child’s development. Please feel free for any query.

Following is the data of children of Non-formal school and Free Coaching Centre

Students are served free nutritious tiffin daily, and all school stationary including books, copy books, school uniforms etc. are also given FREE.

Children are also given Free Computer Education to remove the computer illiteracy. All students are below poverty line !
