Sub: Your help for Community Development Programme.

You  are  aware  o f  the Ramakrishna  Movement  started  by Swami Vivekananda  according  to  the command of His Great Master Sri Ramakrishna  Deva with  the  motto

i.e. for emancipation of the self and selfless service to the mankind.

Keeping in view the above, Ramakrishna Math, Baranagar which is the Origin and Genesis of the Ramakrishna Order, has started Community Development Programme to serve the poor and needy people, mostly slum-dwellers residing around the Math.

 Baranagar Math has following four programmes: 

1.    Happy Birthday to YOU (a Free Milk Feeding Programme for about 200 poor and needy people. Donation of Rs. 2,000/- once in a year on your / your dear one’s birthday).

2.   Sponsor a Child (To sponsor a slum dwelling poor and needy student for his/her academic education. Donation of Rs. 2,100/- in two installments or Rs. 4,200/- in a year).

3.    Health Care (a General Health Care Programme for old and senior citizens and preventive care for children. Donation of Rs. 4,000/- in a year).

4.    Monthly Pecuniary Help Scheme (For helpless, old and handicapped people. Financial support is also provided to needy students every month for their advance studies. Targeted beneficiaries are about 100 persons per month). Donation in two installments of Rs. 2,400/- or Rs. 4,800/- in a year.

5.  PROGRAMME on “Adult Education for Women” Literate parents like to bring forth literate children always. In this perspective, we have initiated the drive on the programme for ‘Adult Education’ for the illiterate mothers of the surrounding slum area.

   We are extending our moral service, providing the participants with all stationery including books and tiffin free of cost. The cost per student is around Rs. 200.00 per month  (Rs. 2,400.00 per year).

You are welcome to participate in any one or more of the above programmes and become an instrument to implement the vision of Swami Vivekananda to make strong, healthy, educated citizen and Prosperous India !
